Verbs and prepositions! please help!

Hi everybody!

Would you please help completing this sentence?


He was assisted by a physician 15 days after he had fallen down the stairs at home,

(hit/knocked/stroke) the face (to/on/against) the floor and injured his maxillary central

Hi, I couldn't be sure about your sentence. But here I found two sentences

She hit her hand against the wall.
And "hit" has with it a meaning of touching the wall deliberately.
So knocked the face on the floor? Just a shot at it. Let's see what others say about this.

I got in my dictionary a sentence as follows;
"He fell and hit his face against the wall".
So the choice would be "hit the face against the floor".

You can accidentally hit your [whatever] against [something].

I wasn't looking where I was going, and I hit my head against the door.

"bump" is a bit more informal: ...., and I bumped my head against the door.
"strike" is a bit more formal: ..., and I struck my head against the door.
