Do the verbs 'to be touched' or 'to be moved' make sense in this context:



a) "Her 29 year old son died in an accident, and everybody was TOUCHED for her."


b) "Her 29 year old son died in an accident, and everybody was MOVED for her."

Yes, but I don't think I've ever heard them followed by "for her". Normally it's just touched or moved and then you stop.

Your use of these is not common or familiar. You could say that everybody felt for her or supported her.
