Verbs

Hi,

How do you call the words after a verb?

I mean the "into" in "look into", "with" in "talk with" etc

I want to do some research, because I'm finding it very hard sometimes to decide: for instance look at, look into, ... What to use & when Emotion: smile

Thank in advance!

A particle in the phrasal verb may be an adverb as well. In the He wanted people to look up to him, the phrasal verb to look up to has the particle up which is an adverb and the particle to which is a preposition.
