The honey had spilled onto my hands, got into my hair, and dripped onto my dress.

Is it all right to write this sentence without repeating the had with each verb as shown below?

The honey had spilled onto my hands, had got into my hair, and had dripped onto my dress.

Shouldn't it be "(had) gotten into my hair" even if the "had" is not repeated here?

I'd prefer "gotten", but I doubt that a speaker of BrE would.

My ear has got / gotten indifferent to the British / American distinction, probably from overexposure to English Forums.
