Verbs

Gave it a look, got a Grammar and i think I got it, can someone take a look, and advice me about my choices?

There (be) has been ( present perfect?)drought here for the past 15 years; for the past four years it (be) has been (perfect?) increasingly severe and this year the area (have) had (Past) only half as much rain as in the previous year. The sands (move) moved (past?) south.

Now the desert (sweep) sweeps (present because its an action that still hapens) around the town and (surround) surrounds/surrouding (present?) it entirely.
Occasionally it is possible to glimpse beneath the dust the baked clay surface of what was once a fertile loam, but that is rare.
Huge dunes of sand (creep) is creeping (Present Pcontinuos) onwards, thousands of tons at the rate of 20 miles a year.

Good job!
There is only one error of subject-verb agreement. Also,did you select "surrounds" or "surrounding"? "Surrounding" needs an auxilliary verb.

I think it is surrounds - I understand that it is a present action....it surrounds it(town) entirely.

am I right?

It could be either "is surrounding" or "surrounds" both are present tense.
There is one more error in a subject/verb agreement.

Is Parallelism not an issue here? I guess "sorrounds" is the only correct answer here.
