Verb used after the word "see"

I am a little confused about the below sentence.

"I see you have logged a defect"

The usage of the word see is like:

I saw you go to the hospital or I see you cooking the cake.

Is the sentence correct? I know the person has logged the defect and want to let him know that I am seeing his defect.
