Verb "think" in present progressive tense??

I think I can't use the verb "think" in present progressive tense. I have seen this sentence.

"The director told Ms Benett that she should acquaint herself with that program because he is thinking of using it for upcoming issues of the magazine"

Is this right?

Thank you in advance for your teaching.

As far as I know, the verb "think" is one of stative verbs. Thanks to you, I have found sometimes we can use it in progressive tenses as well. Thank you for your answer,Mr.Rover_KE.

You can just call me 'Rover'.

There are many verbs that learners are told should not be used in the progressive. It's not a bad rule for when you are first learning the language.

Then you learn more, and realize that there are situations when the progressive form is okay.

Seeing, loving, thinking, etc.

I dislike the expressions 'stative/dynamic verbs'. I prefer to think of them as 'verbs that are most commonly used statively/dynamically'.
