Verb required with anger

Hi

In my language, there are words used with the word anger whose literal translation would be something like this -- and I'm aware that it's going to sound funny.

OK, just drink your anger. He's apologized twice.

or

Can't you spit away your anger? Just see how embarrassed she is.

Which natural verbs can I use in English in situations such as these?

OK please. Just try to ____________ your anger.

Thanks,

Tom

Interesting question. We talk about swallowing our pride - I think we can talk about swallowing our anger. I got a few hits when I searched "swallow * anger" on Google.

Can't we also stifle/suppress/subdue/repress/hold in our anger? I think they can be used.

Thanks, Barbara, GPY and Gene93.

So does this sound natural to your native ears?

OK, just swallow your anger. He's apologized twice.
It's time you swallowed your anger, Philip. It's been three long years since the incident.

What about forget or throw away? Does either work?

OK, just forget

This doesn't fit your paradigm, but I recently heard a good one.

Holding a grudge is like letting someone live rent-free in your brain.
