Verb of predication

Hi

Could you please tell me what is a 'verb of predication'?

The predicate contains information about the subject. e.g. In "He is a good person.", 'a good person' is a predicate and perhaps 'is' is verb of predication.

He arrived at the house in a roundabout fashion.

I don't know the term, and while some internet sources mention 'be' as a verb of predication. others indicate that modal auxiliaries (which do not collocate with 'be' at all) precede verb of predication, so I suggest that 'verbs of predication' probably re
