Verb of perception

Hello

I have 2 questions , please help

https://www.thefreedictionary.com/object+complement

Please confirm if this article is correct, check examples of infinitive/gerunds used as object complement.

If correct would that mean that in sentence ' i saw him playing, playing is an object complement.

2. Normally when we use verb+ing after a verb ( action or catenative verb ) it represents a gerund eg. I enjoy eating, i wanted to speak(Infinitive) but if we use verb+ing with verb of perception would that be a gerund or progressive verb.

Eg. I saw him playing (gerund or progressive)

Also

I saw him play (is this a gerund)

I hear him sing etc

Also as in question 1 is him an object and playing is its complement,

Thankyou and regards
