verb-ing as the noun (gerrund)

hi every1

how is it different from "i go studying" with "i go fishing"
and how do we know when a verb is needed to use with a second verb-ing. it's very confusing to know that there's certain verbs which are like that and some are not, without a clear mark between them

could anyone help me by explaining why are there some verbs that can work with the gerrund and act as the gerrund itself.
thanks
