While writing formal English, can we write in the following way or is this unacceptable verb form?

This was the truth that he wanted ratified.

Top answer

The usage is not quite right in the two given sentences. The nouns "truth" and "doubt" are not paired with the verbs "ratified" and "clarified," respectively. The sentences should be something like the following: This was the truth that he wanted reinforced.
