Verb Forms

Hey,

I wrotte the text but I'm not sure about the verb forms, could anyone give a look into it and see if the verb forms are correct?

Occasionally it is possible to glimpse beneth the dust the baked clay surface of what was once a fertile loam, but that is rare.
Huge dunes of sand (creep) creeps onwards, thousands of tons at the rate of 20 mile a year.
The fine white dust (fall) falls imperceptibly from the havens.
Twenty year ago it (be) was possible to arrive in Timbuktu by boat along a canal dug from the Niger river.
