Verb for pastry

Hi,
Is there a verb to decribe what pastry chefs do? For cook, they use cook for cooking dishes. what about pastry chefs? The only verb I can come up with is "do" but that doesn't sound specific enough.

Thanks,

thanks for your replys.
But I was thinking if there are other verbs besides bake. Since pastry chefs not only bake bread and cake, they make other things too. Will "make" sounds better than "do"?

thanks,

Yes, if you want a more general word than "bake," use "make." Depending on context, of course, you could use words like "create," "construct," "design," etc.
