Verb after ing form as a gerund

Hi there,

Please could you help me with sentence:

"Having updated and accurate maps of land use aid regional planners to plan for the future."

The verb after "Having" should be "aid" or "aids"?

Singular "is" is thus correct.

Incidentally, I find your sentence somewhat infelicitous since it is possible at first reading to mist
