Verb !!

Hi!

1. Boy in drama showed his toy to friend and said " Look at this !! it changes yellow and green ...
My question is why using it is changing? ? (Situation is happening)

2. Mother in drama said to her daughter some advice and then daughter said " Even advice I get is handed- down "
Like above...why use "I get " not "I am getting "?

3. Girl phoned her friend and said "oh promise I'm there"
Why Girl not used "I will be there ?"
(Situation is tomorrow is Girl' s friend birthday )
