Hi, does this verb convey the same or similar meaning as the word "dare"?
For example can I say these three sentences?: He ventured (= dared) to go into the forest alone. He ventured to turn down his tantalizing offer. (= he had the guts to turn it down) His behaviour was, I venture to say, strange.
Am I thinking correctly? Thank you in advance!
