Vehicle employed

The most obvious change in literary expression appears in the vehicle employed.

I know the meanings of the last two words of the sentence but I couldn't get the use of these words in the sentence. Will anyone, please, explain it to me?

It is not possible to fully understand this without more context. From the full context, which I found on the Internet, it seems that "the vehicle employed" means "the language that was used".
