vegas style odds

A new government funded study using cameras to track more than 200 drivers, reveals that 8 out of 10 crashes involves drivers who are drowsy or not paying attention. The study based on thousands of hours of recorded video has put some vegas style odds on various driver behaviours.

Maybe it refers to the fact that in Vegas, all you do is drink and/or gamble, and not only for a few hours. Some stay awake for several nights, without sleeping. So it's obvious, when they drive away, they're likely to be drowsy.

Maybe it refers to the fact that in Vegas, all you do is drink and/or gamble, and not only for a few hours. Some stay awake for several nights, without sleeping. So it's obvious, when they drive away, they're likely to be drowsy. It's a bit like "a Vegas syndrome". (At least that's how I understand it).

Hi pieanne, it isn't a very popular phrase, apparently. Forget about 'vegas syndrome', would you happen to know what does 'to put some odds' mean?

I believe that they're sayign that people assigned the probability of a crash based on how the driver behaves.

If two sports teams are playing, or horses or racing, or whatever, the people look at all kinds of factors in deciding who is likely to win. For example, the if the star player is out with an injury, the "odds" (probability) of that time winning are lower.
