Speech & Pronunciation

Vase: /vaz/ or /veiz/?

Hello!

Could you help me, please? I have a question about the word "vase". In the dictionary I have found only one pronunciation version - /vaz/. But do native speakers say sometimes /veiz/? Or only /vaz/ everywhere?

Thank you!

  • s/.
  • It rhymes with "face".
  • Note the /s/.
  • In my opinion it can't be a /vaz/ unless it's worth at least a million dollars!
