Hi, everyone.
Could you help me understand the phrase in bold?
The popular medium of furniture now mainly consists of plywood, chipboard and other hardboards. These come prefabricated, are low in cost and easily assembled. If one opts for wood, most of the varieties used consist of Kayle, Yellow Pine and similar softwoods, which come from the North or are imported; hardly any indigenous woods are used. There are some exceptions but these vary towards the more expensive woods, such as Teak or Sagawan locally or Sheesham (Indian Rosewood).
Thanks!
It doesn't make proper sense. It could be that "these vary towards" is supposed to mean something like "these tend to be". "The popular medium of furniture" is also a curious phrase.
