variable noun

Hi,
I was searching online for some information regarding writing rubrics and came upon some words like this:

Rubric has many strengths

Complex products or behaviors can be efficiently examined
.
.
I dont think no where in the information section they have mentioned anything about behavior before but since this is information on writing a rubric on a certain disciplinary area, I feel comfortable in seeing the word 'behaviors', rather than what I think is the more often used 'behvior' (in general).I am bothered by the use of the word 'behaviors' without a prior predecence. Am I off the target?
