Vanish/Fade

Hello

Is it common to say that something vanishes/fades from your brain? For instance

"Everything that enetered the patient's brain vanished/faded immediately".

Thank you!

It sounds OK to me with "vanished". "faded" implies a gradual process over time, so it could be questioned how well it fits with "immediately", though it is not impossible.
