Vancouver, Eh

Hi

I understan that it's not really a grammar question but I was reading something and location was said to be "Vancouver, Eh". Where is this place? Is there really a place called "Eh"? Please let me know. Thanks.

If I were not a native Englsih speaker, and I saw "Vancouver, Eh" written, I would think of other similar cities such as Washington, D.C. or Mexico D.F.

My nephew said he was taking his family to Harlepool for a holiday.

I said, 'Hartlepool, eh' (pronounced ay as in day) with a hint of disbelief in my voice.

By eh I meant 'Are you sure?/That's interesting/That's a bit surprising'.
