Valued at more than US$420 billion

The business of brands is huge. Together, the world's 10 biggest brands are valued at more than US$420 billion. And those numbers don't include the value of the companies--that's the value of the brand names alone!

Hi,
Is it right to understand the bolded part in the above as "the world's 10 biggest brands are estimated (at) more than US$420 billion?" Besides, Is "at" in this context optional? If not, what does it mean here? Thanks.

Experts have estimated they are worth that amount. If you value something at a certain figure/sum, you say it is worth that, that is its value, what would be paid for it. No, it is not optional.
