What is your question?

If I vain about my look, hair etc. does that mean I care about it too much like most of the women do or I know that I look beautiful/handsome and I'm just bragging about it, showing it off?

A vain person is obsessive about how they appear to other people. They constantly check their appearance, change clothes several times a day, wear "better" jewelry and clothes than their peers, etc. They think they are superior to other people in all aspects.

you don't answer my question. What does this phrase mean "be vain about something" ? If I'm considered to be vain about my hair or look in general , does it mean
1. I'm concerned with my hair too much - like I'm always trying to look good to the public, frequently cheking myself in the mirror or
2. more than that I'm flaunting it and bragging about it oftentimes so factitiously that it beg
