Utilize something to its utmost

Hi

Are these sentences natural English?

  1. I utilized the dear, old printer to its utmost. (I used and used it.)
  2. I wore your gift (shirt) to its utmost. (I wore it a lot.)
  3. Utilize this dying TV to its last minute and then discard it.

Thanks,

Tom

Re: utilize According to at least one article on the web, 'utilize' should only be used when a thing is used for a novel purpose, not when used for its usual, intended purpose. An Oxford Dictionary has this example: The Romans were the first to utilize concrete as a building material. In any case, 'utilize' is not particularly natural.

  • That may be why it's not recommended for use in resumes, either.
