Using will in a sentence (or other future forms)

Well, I'm 9th grade student, studying English as my foreign language. We had a test few days ago, but I didn't get the mark I wanted, and I thought I could ask here wether the teacher was right about some mistakes or she didn't.
Well first one would be..
plane ... (land) tomorrow
Correct would have been "lands". I put there "will land" and in my opinion both are correct, but teacher said the last one wasn't and all she said for an explanation was that plane doesn't make plans. Well why doesn't?
So I am asking here wether plane will land tomorrow is correct and if it's not I would like an explanation why, so I could avoid this mistake next time.
