Using the words "me" versus "myself

I have had a discussion the pst few days with my wife regarding the correct usage of "me" versus "myself" and now need some advice.

Which is appropriate in todays world,

" If you have any further questions, please contact Mary, paul or me?"

Or,

"If you have any further questions, please contact Mary, paul, or myself?"

I am under the impression that you use "myself" when the word "I" has been used somewhere in the sentence prior to using "myself".

Please advise,

Thank you

This is something where BE and USE seems to differ. I have always been using, and still continue to use 'myself' in this type of formal writing. At this point, I cannot back it up with any references, due to mitigating circumstances.

  • From what I recall, when referring to yourself it is the use of the passive form , that myself is utilised.
