Using the phrase "that's all" at the end of a sentence?

Even though it's able to stand alone as its own sentence, are there any exceptions for placing "that's all" at the end of a sentence, separated only by a comma, when it's used in a more conversational/idiomatic sense?

"I thought her playing sounded awful. I'm not trying to be mean, it's just how it sounded to me, that's all. "

"There was no other love in his life. No money, no women, no cars. He was was just devoted to his art, that's all."

Also, in this second example, is the second sentence beginning "No money" OK as it is? Even though I think it may be classed as a series of sentence fragments, I think it's acceptable on the grounds of emphasis.

I don't think it is used for emphasis, but for minimizing. At any rate, I do think it is fine to use it at the end of the sentence with a comma. I don't think I would do it that way, though.

  • I think I would write another short sentence: That's all.
  • I'm just saying I don't know what you are talking about.

I'm just saying I don't know what you are talking about. That's all. Don't get emotional.
I'm minimizing with that.

Thank you for your reply.

Is the second sentence in my second example—"No money, no women, no cars."—able to stand alone as it is, even though it's just a list? That's what I was referring to when I was talking about emphasis.
