using "the" before names of buildings and places

Hi!

I would like to know how to use „the” before places and buildings.

For example:

The Wawel Hill or Wawel Hill

The Mary’s Church or St. Mary’s Church

The or .

I checked in the Internet by even in BBC’s sites there are different spellings.
Thanks for answering.
