Using quote in a sentece

Dear teachers,

Could you please let us know which ones are correct among the following 8 sentences?

I think the sentences in red are incorrect. Is this right?


"Oh, no…," said Edna Pontellier.

"Oh, no…," said she.

They are all OK to me, except that said she / says he seems a little too arch. In the others, use quotes if you are quoting the actual words used.
