Using past and present together?

Hi, everyone.

Could you help me understand when can I use present and past tense together? Is there a a rule for their sequence in a sentence? Are these sentences correct formally?

  • I don’t know who you dated in high school.
  • We have become just like them who wish one another "Christmas" only through whatsapp status; we feel awkward to orally wish each other this day when that person was born for whose sake this universe was created.(is the change of tenses in this sentense correct?)

  • He said he detests fish.

Thanks!
