Using or With

Hello, someone used my key to open the door and entered the lab -- which one of the following is correct? or they are exactly the same, no difference at all?

  • Someone entered the lab using my key

  • Someone entered the lab with my key

In most cases the meaning is the same. However, the lab door need not be locked and yet you can say: He entered the lab with my key. He came in and he had my key with him, but he didn't use the key to open the door.
