Using 'on' for movement

In the sentence 'She jumped on bed and fell off it and then she had back pain.', what is actually the meaning of 'jumped on'. Did she jump from the floor to the bed or she jumped up and down on the bed?
Because I think that it is almost impossible to fall off the bed when somebody just jumps up and down on it.
Thank you.
