Using hip-hop in English lessons - competition

Hi,

I'm working with the National Literacy Trust on the promotion of a nationwide schools competition backed by the National Literacy Trust’s Reading for Life campaign and sponsored by hip-hop video game Def Jam Rapstar. The competition is looking to inspire youngsters to develop their writing skills.

The Def Jam Rapstar Rhyme Master competition is open to young people aged 12-17 who can enter as individuals or as part of a class exercise by writing or performing short raps. The winning pupil will get a visit from popular British rapper and writer Chipmunk, and a host of goodies.

The competition closes on 26th November, with Chipmunk scheduled to present the prizes on 6th December.
