Using future tense correctly

Hi,
I have some issues with this sentence
"-IMPRINT will be a full day event, consisting of four interactive sessions..-"

Actually the event is scheduled to happen in the future. But I think it is better to write it in this way.It would be great if you could help with a proper explanation.

"IMPRINT is a full day event, consisting of four interactive.."

Cheers.
