Using exclamation

Hi,

Every time he tried, boom! he failed.

Can we use ! like this in the middle of the sentence to dramatize things? Must the word following ! be small letters?

Can we use ! like this in the middle of the sentence to dramatize things? I don't remember seeing anything like that before. An exclamation mark comes at the end of a sentence or word.

Must the word following ! be small letters? If it's not a new sentence, there is no reason to capitalize the next word.
