Using etc.

I have 3 to 4 colon lists on every page and want to know if it is okay to etc. at the end of all of them or does it become monotonous and overuse of etc.?

I would have to see the pages, but in general, "etc." is far more rarely called for than it is used. As evidence of that claim, I would ask whether you would use the English equivalent, "and so forth", as often as you use the overly convenient "etc."

It depends on the purpose of the writing. "Etc." is usually discouraged in formal writing. It shows that the writer has not completed his thought or idea. There are better ways to indicate that the list is only a sampling of possibilities, or perhaps the most frequently encountered items.
