Hi,

Is it possible to use ellipsis in this manner?

"James knew about X . . ." Mary paused for a while. ". . . and also about Y."

Seems fine to me, although I'd write it this way.

"James knew about X . . .". Mary paused for a while, ". . . and also about Y".
