Using each in negative sentence

Hello, everyone!

I assume that using "each" in a negative sentence is incorrect.
Am I right?

I learned that you can say "I don't know either of them"
but can't say "I don't know each of them".

I'd appreciate if anyone could give me a clear explanation about the use of "each".
