Using both adverbs and participles in the introduction of a sentence...

Howdy. If I was to write a sentence that had an adverbial preposition in the beginning, I know it would be incorrect to also have a participle that attempted to modify the subject, like this:

Next to my Osbie Feel, laughing, I hopped around.

since "laughing" would automatically modify "Osbie Feel"...so if I wanted "laughing" to modify "I", I'd just write:

Laughing next to my Osbie Feel, I hopped around.

OK. So then what about participles that attempt to modify the subject but aren't next to adverbial prepositions? Like, would you also change this:

Anyhow, laughing, I ate a banana sandwich.

to this?

Laughing anyhow, I ate a banana sandwich.

because, anyhow being an adverb an all, it serves relatively the same purpose as any other adverb. Help.

What is an adverbial preposition? A preposition is just a preposition. How many kinds can there be? I don't understand your question. (I think others feel the same, which is why you're not getting any reponses.)

The other type of preposition is an adjectival preposition, which modifies things as adjectives do.

adjectival: The dog in the basement is talking to me.
adverbial: I began skipping down the street.

If the question was unclear: If you shouldn't place participles after prepositions, should you not do so after any adverbs?

But I think you already answere

I thought you might mean something like that. I just wanted to be sure.
