Using "below" correctly

Hi,

We have some compound nouns like: Computer Science, Religion Question and History Teacher.

What about the construct "below samples/examples", in the following sentence?

He said he will provide the below samples/examples for the examination.


1- Isn't the construct "below examples/samples" (as a replacement for "following examples/samples") a compound noun?

2- Isn't "below" there in the sentence an adverb?

3- Is the sentence even correct or should we use, say, "following examples/samples"?
