USING "AS WELL AS"

Surrealism as well as other new forms of writing is adopted by this group of writers. Is 'is' the right verb to use?

Anonymous Is 'is' the right verb to use? If your whole presentation is in the "historical present", it's OK. You probably want 'was', however, as surrealism was developed as a movement in art quite some time ago.
