using adverbs with transitive verbs

The usual order of adverbials is manner - direction/place - time. So, "She went quickly to the park" or "She quickly went to the park" may be more natural. Personally I prefer the latter.

Google results are hard to assess.

1. These results seem miniscule.

2. I wrote about 'speaking'. People don't speak on the 'net. The question is, 'To what extent do they write as they speak?'

Google Results:

#3 includes samples that is not actually a single sentence.

As to your second point, I can't argue against.
There is no spoken English corpus online.
But I rather beli

In spite of those impressive Google statistics I too have to say that
"X went to Y quickly"
positions the adverb most naturally.
At least that's true for me.

OK, I'd admit Google results could be a bit deviated from your every talking. My feeling is you have a tendency to put at the tail of a sentence the adverbial you want to emphasize. "Quickly" might be such sort of adverb especially when it is uttered in speech. Anyway, thank you. I'll be done with this thread
