Using adverbs with adjectives

Hello,

I have a small question to ask:

When an adverb describes an adjective, should I place a hyphen in between them?

The ones I'm confused about are:

well made OR well-made

freshly baked OR freshly-baked

firmly built OR firmly-built

newly made OR newly-made

Thank you!

There is a weird style rule about this. Don't use a hyphen with -ly ending adverbs. " So only "well-made" would have the hyphen.

Don't use a hyphen with -ly ending adverbs. Do use it with "well."

So only "well-made" would have the hyphen.

(I incorrectly posted about that a few years ago. If you find my old post saying don't hyphenate something like "well-made" realize it was an error and go with this post instead.)
