Using a/an/the or Zero article

can you tell wich article is used in the following tex?and why I am more intrested in the reason for using the article in each blank

A letter from Hana Kieslowski, a foreign PhD student at the University of Sheffield, to her local HBOS bank manager in Sheffield

I went to the bank yesterday This is a specific reference to the bank branch that you are writing to. Thus, the writer is thinking that the recipient is already aware of it.

in order to obtain _a_credit card This is the first mention of a credit card. You are brinhing it to the reader's attention for the first time.
