Does the word "correlate" makes sense in this sentence? I feel like there is another word I am trying to think of, but i just can't grasp it. Can anyone help me out?


"Aunt Monica said they are throwing Jeff a going away party end of June before he leaves for Tennessee, so I wanted to try and correlate with that."
