Used to vs. Would

Hello.

Many kind thanks in advance to whomever can answer the following question: what is the difference between 'used to' and 'would' in the sentences below?

Dr. Kim would write prescriptions for patients who looked tired.

Dr. Kim used to write write prescriptions for patients who looked tired.

My thought is 'would' refers to a condition (i.e. when people looked tired), while 'used to' refers to regularity of past action that no longer occurs (i.e. prescriptions were written often for people who looked tired).

Again, any thoughts on this are great appreciated.
