Used to + present simple

Hi everybody,
I'm learning english on courses;and my teacher said to us that we can use 'used to' in the simple time.
I have read rule about 'used to' and I did not find about it any information.
Could you please tell me : Is it possible to use 'used to' as in the example below or no?
I used to play play footbal and I still also play it.
